BMA Diamond Jubilee Celebrations & Founding Day Convention

Theme: ‘Driving Excellence through Co-Creation’

Today firms compete to create value to their customers. In this process, the suppliers and the customers collaborate with each other to create higher value in knowledge profitability. This collaboration or synergy enhances the quality. Hence, the theme chosen by Bangalore Management Association for the conference planned on 10th October 2013, is ‘Driving Excellence through Co-creation’

Co-creation is a form of marketing strategy or business strategy that emphasizes the generation and ongoing realization of mutual firm-customer value. It views markets as forums for firms and active customers to share, combine and renew each other’s resources and capabilities to create value through new forms of interaction, service and learning mechanisms. Value is co-created with customers if and when a customer is able to derive greater value from its product-service investment in the form of new knowledge, higher revenues/ profitability and/or superior brand value/loyalty.

Some management gurus opine that at the core of collaboration is co-creation: customers aren’t just customizing; they’re collaborating with vendors to create unique value. Co-creating with customers who are innovators and thought leaders enables firms to create unique value to them, then to apply what is learnt in expanding firm’s offerings and selling to other customers. Co-creation is beyond mere synergies.
